They sat in silence again for a long while, her proclamation circling in his head as he held her a little tighter, a little more closely. All the more protectively.

“We’ll take things at your pace,” he promised at last, speaking softly. “You tell me every time you’re ready to take the next step, and we’ll take it. When you feel ready to face a lab again, let me know, and I’ll see what I can do to get those nodes out, alright? Then we’ll see what we can do to help Billy.”

She nodded, taking a deep breath.  ”Things will probably start to come easier after the funeral.”  She murmured, the thought was not one that she relished.  Seeing him put in the ground would have a finality she didn’t know if she could take.  What she did know was that Hank was the only doctor she would let near her.

“Closure,” he agreed quietly, squeezing her shoulder. “I doubt it’ll be easy, but… it’ll be-… helpful, at least. With any luck. Help you move on.”

OOC: 27th Oct - 29th Oct

Hey guys! First of all, I want to apologise for being scarce for these last few days! Between the lovely mountain of commissions you’ve all given me and my slightly less lovely boss rearranging the desks at work so he can now see my laptop screen all the time, I’ve had a bit of a difficult time getting online D:

I’m off to the London MCM Expo this weekend, and will be away from an ungodly 4:30am tomorrow morning until Monday afternoon, but hopefully next week I should start managing to be around a bit more than I have been!

Apologies again, and hope you all have a fabulous time with the Hallowe’en event~ I look forward to getting back and hanging with you guys on the other side of the weekend <33 Thanks so much for your patience, and sorry for making you all wait! ;u;

Hank looked down at her, and found himself completely at a loss for words at what she murmured. Family? Him…? What family could a washed-up recluse like him possibly be for her…?

But even as he met her gaze, took in the pinkness of her eyes and smoothed away a runaway tear on her cheek, he knew deep down that if he was what she saw fit to call family, there was no way on earth he could argue. Not with that vulnerable face.

Not with Molly.

“… Of course. We are family,” he whispered, and gathered her into his arms again.

She watched him process what she had said, the surprise, realising how little he thought of himself.  She was oddly relieved when he spoke.  She sniffled and hugged him tight, she hadn’t felt so safe since her return.  Nothing could hurt her here.

They sat in silence again for a long while, her proclamation circling in his head as he held her a little tighter, a little more closely. All the more protectively.

Greer tried her best not to smile too widely as Hank continued to sputter for the right words; the flames of the candles making her look even more orange, the flames reflecting in her dark, wide pupils. She smiled up at him before blowing out the match and moving to toss it in the sink. “See, you say things like that, and I forgive you straight away.” She bent over to grab a vase from underneath the sink and filled it halfway with water. “I’m alright. Better now that you’re here.” she replied honestly, moving over to him with a little smile and wrapping her arms around his neck before pressing a kiss to his lips.

Hank chuckled despite himself, only to find he was suddenly silenced by her lips on his. Certainly not about to complain, he looped an arm about her waist, pulling her up against him as he returned the kiss lingeringly. “That’s the idea,” he breathed when it broke again, running his free hand through her hair. “Good to know… I feel much better for being here, too… And did I mention you look incredible?” Only a million times already. But still. She did.

They stayed like that for who knew how long, him holding her and her sobbing it all out into his chest, until at last her sobs began to abate some - drawing his focus again. “It’ll get better, you know,” he murmured, glancing down at her worriedly. “It does. It takes a while, but it won’t always feel like this… and until it doesn’t, you know you can always come to me, don’t you? Anything I can do to help… We’ll get you through this, Molly. I promise.”

She would never stop appreciating the fact that he had just let her cry it out in silence. She nodded, “I know, thank you.” She looked up at him, eyes red-rimmed and watery. “You know I think of you as family, right?” She asked softly, it needed to be said.

She didn’t have the words to say anything now, but there was so much she wanted to say.  That he was the closest thing to family she had, that she was so glad he was here for her.  She didn’t even mind that he didn’t know what to say himself, he was here.  She wrapped her arms around him, her tiny body shaking with her tears.

They stayed like that for who knew how long, him holding her and her sobbing it all out into his chest, until at last her sobs began to abate some - drawing his focus again. “It’ll get better, you know,” he murmured, glancing down at her worriedly. “It does. Greer couldn’t help the grin that formed on her face at his nervous sputtering. “Hi.” she said, noticing the ridiculous bunch of roses he was trying to hide behind his back. “Don’t you look handsome. Come in.” she said, moving from the doorway to hold the door open for him, waving a hand for him to go through. It was then she realised she hadn’t lit the candles. She moved over to the kitchen after closing the locking her door, reaching for the matches on the counter and moving over to the small dining table to start lighting them. “How’re you? Haven’t seen you for a while…”

Hank followed her in obediently, the scent of roast hitting him as he stepped in over the threshold. “No… look, a-about that…” God, she looked incredible… “I’m sorry I haven’t been-… ah… that I’ve been…” He trailed off weakly as his gaze fell on her again, and after a moment of struggling uselessly for the right words, he finally hitched a sheepish, lopsided smile. “I don’t even know how I got this lucky. How are you?”

[Anon Phone Call] -> Hank Pym

O-343: Atonement? Redemption? Or perhaps I just want to stick it in the good ol' doctor's face when I repay his... good work.
Hank: *can't help a hint of a smirk at that* I see... In which case, I would be happy to help. I presume you remember where to find me?
O-343: No but it shouldn't take me too long to find you. When do you want to meet?
Hank: Come to the Avengers Academy - this afternoon. How does two sound?
